Impact on Profession, Specialty, Teaching, and Research Statement

It is valuable to positively impact the profession, specialty, teaching, and research in our professional careers. I paid my small contribution at Michigan AGD by emphasizing using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for virtual dental implants and treatment planning. The CBCT interpretation will give us skills to conduct non-invasive surgical planning for implant and pathology removal. Make the clinic experience pleasant for patients and enhance clinical efficiency. The publication on external bitewing radiography to assess bone loss is now used in extraoral bitewing radiography to acquire the entire maxillary and mandibular premolar and molar radiographs. It is diagnostic for evaluating the premolars and molar teeth’ relationship to the maxillary sinus and inferior alveolar canal. Efficient private practitioners are adopting this technique to be efficient and precise in-patient care.

I'm an editorial board member for the International Journal of Oral Rehabilitation. I have been an active reviewer for the Journal of Dental Education since last year. For the specialty of oral and maxillofacial radiology, I've served as an exclusive judge for national meetings and poster competitions. The American College of Prosthodontics has invited me to give training on providing an attractive presentation for student learning. I've taught how to give effective presentations to graduate prosthodontics and undergraduate directors. In radiology, I have found a way to teach CBCT to dental students through a Zoom platform. The University of North Carolina has commended me for contributing to scholarship and research for future radiologists.

I have a unique combination of oral medicine, oral radiology, and leadership virtues to become an efficient leader in research and teaching. I was serving as an academic advisor for the PNET global school and gave a talk at the Voice of America Washington, DC, to spread awareness about oral cancer.

I teach creative ways to teach 3D CBCT using the Zoom platform for classroom teaching and CE purposes. It was overwhelming to become the winner of the first Beyond Excellence Award for contribution to teaching, research, and humanity by UNC. It's a humbling experience to share the stage with legends Dr. Steven Offenbacher and Dr. William Profitt at the North Carolina Dental Foundation. I'm still learning to become an impactful dental leader in the world.

In conclusion, we must use our wisdom in the profession, specialty, teaching, and research to serve humanity.
